An open letter to Yakima:
YAKIMA, Wash. - The 1980s were a time of change in nearly every aspect of pop culture. Hair got bigger, music got louder, and movies, of course, often gained a cult following.
On March 21, A.C. Davis High School's Interact Club took over Yakima's Franklin Park for two hours in an effort to bring clean water to another part of the world.
I do not watch very much television. Now, this is not to say that I don't watch far too many TV shows, just that I usually watch them online or on Netflix or with some other blessedly commercial-free method.
Halloween is almost here, but that doesn't mean you have to wait to be scared witless. If it's sheer, mindless terror you want, the Madd Hatter's Haunt, at 10 E. Washington Ave. in Yakima, can deliver.
