At the time the claim was bold and brash for a small school: Did Yakima’s little Carroll High School have the best girls cross country team in the state at any level?
While collegiate wrestling programs have been on the budget-cutting decline in recent years, the Valley’s rich prep history has produced 35 All-Americans at four- and two-year programs across the country.
Beth Platte could hardly be considered a late-bloomer considering she came from a very large family of swimmers who were all competitive at a young age.
At a time when we're waiting and hoping to play any basketball at all, it's notable for the sake of extreme contrast there was a season 30 years ago when Valley teams actually played too much.
