SEQUIM — Keith Crimp fired a 1-over par 73 to earn one of the two available spots for the U.S. Senior Amateur after a qualifying tournament Monday at Sunland Golf and Country Club.
The Ellensburg golfer had to rally after shooting a 4-over 40 on the front nine that included five bogeys. He didn’t have a bogey over his final 10 holes and collected three birdies on the back nine to finish one shot behind medalist John Von Lossow and two in front of third-place finisher Norm Bradley.
Crimp and Von Lossow advance to the U.S. Senior Amateur Aug. 24-29 at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, N.C.
Crimp is a two-time winner of the WSGA Senior Men’s Champion of Champions (2013, 2014) and won the Washington State Senior Men’s Amateur Championship in 2010.
