SELAH, Wash. — Elijah Pepper nearly turned in a triple-double with 26 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds to lead Selah to an 82-31 win over Quincy in CWAC boys basketball Saturday night at Carl Kellman Gym.

Zakery Donato finished with 16 points and Calvin Herting added 11 points and six assists for Selah (1-0), which visits Grandview on Friday.

PROSSER 61, EAST VALLEY 42: At Prosser, Nate Brown and Scott Blakney combined for 35 points and 20 rebounds for the Mustangs, who dashed out to a 15-4 lead in the opening period.

Brown led all scorers with 19 points, and Lucas Juarez paced East Valley with 12 points.

Prosser resumes CWAC play at Quincy on Friday, and East Valley hosts a nonleaguer with Naches Valley on Tuesday.

CHIAWANA 74, SUNNYSIDE 64: At Chiawana, Sunnyside’s Trey Sanchez broke loose for 42 points but Chiawana rallied in the second half behind a balanced offense.

Sanchez, a 5-foot-10 junior, hit 14 of 23 shots, including 7 of 10 3-pointers, and all seven of his free throws. He scored 29 in the first half but Chiawana’s defense focussed in on him in the second half to help overcome a 41-33 halftime deficit and then pull away after the teams were tied at the end of three.
