After winning a state wrestling title at Mat Classic in February, Granger freshman Viktorya Torres stepped up her game with two impressive national accomplishments in Colorado and Oklahoma last month.

Competing for Victory Wrestling Club, Torres captured the 112-pound title at the USA Wrestling Cadet National Championships in Oklahoma City on March 23-25. She went 4-0 in the 25-entry bracket without giving up a point in the 15-16 age tournament.

Torres also moved up in age to place fourth with a 4-2 record in the Junior (17-18) division.

The week before Cadet Nationals, Torres went 3-0 to win the 111-pound bracket at the Rocky Mountain National Championships in Denver on March 18-19. She defeated a former national champion 6-3 in the final.

Torres is hoping to compete in more national tournaments in the coming months and anyone interested in helping the family can visit:
