SHORELINE, Wash. — Selah struggled to find its footing a day after suffering a semifinal loss to Columbia River.
The Vikings gave up three goals before halftime to Ridgefield, the only team to beat Columbia River this season. Selah eventually found some offense, but it wasn't enough to prevent a 3-1 loss in the Class 2A third-place match at Shoreline Stadium.
The two-time defending CWAC champions never gave up and utilized three forwards to generate more offense in the second half. Senior midfielder Isabelle Moultray's hard work paid off late, when she challenged a back pass and forced a deflection off her back into the net.
She's one of multiple seniors who made the starting lineup as freshmen and helped lead the program to three league titles, three district titles and four state tournaments, including two semifinal appearances. During that time, Selah posted a 68-13-6 record, capped off by a 38-4 record the past two seasons.
