STEVENS POINT, Wis. — Despite a late rush to force her way into a playoff, Yakima's Cassie Kim missed the 36-hole cut on Tuesday at the U.S. Girls Junior Championships at SentryWorld Golf Course.

Kim recorded four birdies on the back nine Tuesday, including three over the final five holes, to finish in a 13-player tie for the final three spots for the start of match play on Wednesday.

The recent Davis graduate parred the first two holes of the playoff but was eliminated. Kim opened with a round of 79 on Tuesday but rebounded with Wednesday's 1-over 73, which included a 3-under 33 on the closing nine.

The international-level, 18-and-under tournament had 156 qualifiers and Kim finished in a tie for 63rd.
