LONGVIEW — The Yakima Valley men’s basketball team won its final two games at the Red Devil Classic after losing its opening game against Mt. Hood on Friday to finish in fourth place in the tournament hosted

by Lower Columbia College.

The Yaks beat Centralia in the consolation final 79-72 on Sunday at Myklebust Gymnasium.

Journey Buba came off the bench to lead five Yakima Valley players

in double figures with

18 points.

Koby Fulton had 17 points, Raymond Guillory III added 15, Chris Murphy finished with a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds and Trey Sanchez chipped in 10 points for the Yaks (2-1).

Yakima Valley shot 50.8% from the field and 61.9% from 3-point range while holding Centralia to 40.6% shooting.

Centralia out-

rebounded the Yaks 35-33 while Yakima Valley had more assists, steals and forced more turnovers in the game.

Yakima Valley will travel to Twin Falls, Idaho for the CSI Tournament hosted by the College of Southern Idaho. The Yaks will open the tournament against the College of Central Florida at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
