The Central Washington volleyball team earned its eighth straight NCAA tournament berth Monday, when the Wildcats were seeded No. 8 in the West Region.
CWU (18-10) will have a steep task in the Dec. 5 opening round with a matchup against the host team Cal State San Bernardino, with is 27-0 and ranked No. 1 in the nation’s top-ranked
Fellow GNAC teams Westewrn Washington (No. 2 seed) and Alaska Anchorage (No. 4) are also in the West Region.
Roots up for Hill Trophy
Central Washington running back Michael Roots is one of 36 players nominated for the 2019 Harlon Hill Trophy, which is given to the top player in Division II.
After regional and national voting, the winner will be announced Dec. 20 and honored at the Little Rock Touchdown Club awards banquet Jan. 9.
Roots led the GNAC in rushing yards (1,515), rushing touchdowns (14), yards per carry (6.9) and rushing yards per game (137.7).
