ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Down 2-0 just over 20 minutes into the match, Central Washington regrouped and rallied for a 3-2 victory over Simon Fraser in GNAC play on Thursday.

The Wildcats covered the deficit before the break as Molly Edvalds scored in the 27th minute and Paige Devine tied it in the 34th minute.

With Central’s defense locking down, Teanna Lathum provided the winner in the 64th minute on an assist from Madison Bradley.

CWU moved to 3-1-1 in GNAC play and 5-4-1 overall and will host Seattle Pacific on Saturday.

CWU sweeps W. Oregon

The Wildcats rolled to a second straight sweep with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-17 win at Nicholson Pavilion.

Former Naches Valley outside hitter Makala Swart led Central Washington with 11 kills, posting a .360 hitting percentage. Senior libero Kyla Morgan compiled 20 digs to add to bring her program record total to 2,057 and Julia Mellander finished with five blocks.

Former West Valley setter Sydney Remsberg reached double figures for the third straight match with 17 assists for the Wildcats, just one fewer than teammate Gabrielle Aihara. Central (5-4 GNAC, 10-7 overall) will conclude its homestand Saturday against Concordia in a matchup of fifth-place teams.

Davis athletic director Bob Stanley and Wilson Middle School athletic director John Gonzales will be guests of the Yakima Monday Morning Quarterback Club at its weekly luncheon Monday.

The meeting will begin at 11:45 a.m. at Jacksons, 48th Avenue and Tieton Drive. Lunch service will be available, and the public is invited.
