ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Makala Swart had 19 kills, leading another big night for Central Washington hitters, but the Wildcats couldn't overcome an early deficit and lost to Northwest Nazarene in a GNAC volleyball match Tuesday at Nicholson Pavilion.

CWU lost the first two sets before rallying, only to see the Crusaders bounce back and claim the final set in their 25-22, 26-24, 9-25, 27-29, 15-11 victory.

Along with Swart, three other Wildcats hit double-digits in kills — Bridgette Webb (12), Diana Fa'amausili (11) and Ashley Kaufman — but it wasn't enough for the Wildcats (3-4 GNAC, 8-7 overall) to avoid a third straight loss and second straight five-set defeat.

Gaby Aihara finished with 33 assists, and Sydney Remsberg had 27 assists and 13 digs for Central.

CWU highlights: Makala Swart 19 kills, 9 digs; Bridgette Webb 12 kills; Diana Fa'amausili 11 kills, 8 digs; Ashley Kaufman 11 kills, 17 digs; Lexi Schamadan 8 kills; Julia Mellander 7 kills; Kyla Morgan 27 digs; Sydney Remsberg 27 assists, 13 digs; Gaby Aihara 33 assists, 6 digs.
