Hull scores 20 points in Stanford's OT win over Gonzaga

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Zillah graduate Samantha Bowman scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Central Washington's women to a 60-48 win over Colorado Christian on Friday in the Cherry Creek Classic.

Bowman, a 6-foot-2 sophomore, made 8 of 8 free throws, and teammate Alexis Pana contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists for the Wildcats, who beat the same team 72-45 in Nampa, Idaho, on Nov. 16.

Central's defense held Colorado Christian under 30-percent shooting

Central (3-2) continues play in the Cherry Creek Classic on Saturday against MSU Denver at 3 p.m.

YVC men fall in opener

LONGVIEW — Sophomore Trey Sanchez fired in seven 3-pointers and scored 27 points but Yakima Valley's men struggled on the boards and fell to Mt. Hood 94-84 in the Yaks' season opener at the Red Devil Classic on Friday.

Raymond Guillory put together 20 points, six rebounds and three steals for YVC, which was outrebounded 46-26.

The Yaks will play Olympic at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

YVC coaches at QBs

Yakima Valley College basketball coaches London Wilson and Adam Strom and athletic director Ray Funk will be guests of the Yakima Monday Morning Quarterback Club at Monday's weekly luncheon.
