Josh Turner will not play the Central Washington State Fair on Friday, fair general manager and President Greg Stewart said late this morning.
A passenger bus carrying Turner's road crew crashed Wednesday night in California, killing one person and injuring seven. Turner and his band were not on the bus.
The performance was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday. Stewart said he is looking for a last-minute replacement.
Turner is a deep-voiced singer who has mixed traditional and contemporary country sounds, scoring four No. 1 singles on the Billboard country chart. He’s probably best known for his 2010 hit “Why Don’t We Just Dance.” Most recently, he turned to gospel for his 2018 album “I Serve a Savior,” which hit No. 2 on the country album chart.
