Nora Requena speaks with Kim Hussey during her Bunco group gathering at her home in Selah, Wash. on on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019.
“Nora has been wanting to get people together for a Bunco party for years,” said Anita Callahan, one of Requena's close friends who attended the party. I’ve known her for like 10 years, and I’ve always been like ‘why are you so obsessed with this game? All you do is roll the dice. But it was actually really fun.”
Though she doesn’t consider herself especially great at the game itself, Callahan said she really didn’t think skill was what’s important about playing.
“Honestly, I think it’s more about friendship and getting together with people and playing and the conversation,” she said. “It’s mostly getting to know other people.”
