The impasse that led to the longest government shutdown in United States history divided Americans along ideological lines. Now, President Trump has temporarily ended the shutdown but has threatened to reimpose it by Feb. 15 if no deal is made to get border-wall funding. A CBS News poll released last week showed that 71 percent of respondents believed border-wall funding was not worth the partial government shutdown; 28 percent believed it had been worth it.
