To the editor — The Yakima community experienced a breath of fresh air Oct. 27 from the rant and rave of politics with the Concert at Englewood Christian Church to support the work of Camp Hope. Thanks to David Ramsey Warner for the vision and organization that brought together a cornucopia of choral music from throughout the Yakima Valley. From a barbershop quartet, high school choirs and church choirs to Bel Canto, Yakima Symphony Chorus and Canticus, the audience was exposed to the diverse opportunities we have in the valley to hear the best of choral music

Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m., there is another opportunity to listen to the best of choral music as Canticus presents “A Choral Collage” at Englewood Christian Church The first half of the concert will present choral music by Daniel Schreiner, the choral teaching assistant at Central Washington University. Daniel is well known for his compositions and as a choral clinician. The second half will feature a short selection of pieces from G. F. Handel’s "Messiah" in anticipation of Canticus’s full performance in December.

Thanks be to all for the gifts given to our Valley to enhance our joy of choral music.
