To the editor — No one is above the law, not even the president! We are not a dictatorship or communist country. We are a democracy with a little socialism thrown in — i.e., Social Security, Medicare, highways and parks, which are meant for all.
Our president is elected by the people for the people, not for personal enrichment. It is not a position where one can say, "I have the right to do whatever I want,” as President Donald Trump claims.
Trump is eroding respect for federal judges, the rule of law, our military personnel, women and people of color. The list is long. Anyone who disagrees with him is a Never Trumper. Who says things like that? What dignified person would act like a bully and call people names? What reason does he have for not releasing his tax returns?
Trump took an oath to uphold the Constitution. His actions are affecting the future of American democracy.
