Nel Cavuto

To the editor — I looked skyward. Was it a bird? A drone? No! A pig with wings.

I had that dream after reading about how Fox News host Neil Cavuto responded to President Trump’s call to his faithful to dump Fox News.  Trump said the network wasn’t “working for us anymore.”

Cavuto said, “First of all, Mr. President, we don’t work for you.  I don’t work for you.  My job is to cover you, not fawn over you or rip you, just report on you — to call balls and strikes on you.”

Cavuto advised the president that being corrected comes with the presidency: “I’m not the one who said tariffs are a wonderful thing, you are. Just like I’m not the one who said Mexico would pay for the wall — you did. Just like I’m not the one who claimed that Russia didn’t meddle in the 2016 election — you did.”

After reviewing several more contradictions, Cavuto said, “These aren’t fake items. They’re real items and you really said them.”

Given Fox’s coverage of the president and his reliance on their coverage for ideas and praise, little wonder I dreamed of a pig with wings. Fox’s Neil Cavuto was soaring on wings of truth.
