Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory
Shane Richard May, age 46, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 29, 2019. Shane was born to Gary and Sharron (Wyckoff) May on September 22, 1973 in Yakima, WA. He was a 1992 graduate of Zillah High School. On November 18, 1995, he married his elementary school sweetheart April (Nutt) May and together they have three beautiful children. Shane was the Plant Manager at Wrap Pack, Inc. in Union Gap, and enjoyed working so much with his side-kick Theresa, all the guys in the shop, as well as the team up in Wenatchee – especially his boss Ted. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed nothing more than beating his friend David in a game of golf! But Shane was his happiest when he was with his kids. There was never a baseball game, basketball game, volleyball game, gymnastics meet, or piano recital missed if he could avoid it. His greatest joy was his kids and simply “hanging out” with them. He is survived by his wife April; kids: Trevor, Taylen, & Teryn; mother Sharron; brothers: Kelly Olney, Greg (Monica) Olney, Damon (Terri) Dunsmore, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, and his beloved dog Zeke. He was preceded in death by his dad Gary May, uncle Bill Wyckoff, and best friend Lance Braden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Monday, October 7th at 10:30 am with a luncheon to immediately follow in the gathering hall. All are welcome to attend.
Special thanks to David & Kate Silvernail, Damon & Terri Dunsmore, and the numerous law enforcement agencies & First Responders who were trying to help Shane during his darkest hours – we appreciate you.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to La Salle High School of Yakima in care of Brookside Funeral Home, PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936.
