In Memoriam. Sally Lust (Grammy), age 79, passed away Sept. 14th, 2018 following complications that were associated with a fall that had occurred in her home.
Sally was born June 30th, 1939 Sara Jane Harris, the daughter of Walter and Ida Harris. She grew up in Seattle and graduated from Lincoln High School (1957). Sally attended Washington State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bacteriology and Public Health. During her time at WSU she met and later married Michael Lust. They moved to Yakima and they later had two sons. Sally devoted much of her life to her family. Yet she found time to remain active as a Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni and as a Yakima Junior League member and later worked as the Development Director of Planned Parenthood of Central Washington.
Sally was a devout Cougar Football fan. She was truly a Diehard Coug. Her second favorite team on any given week was whoever was playing against the Huskies in football. She also loved watching the Seattle Mariners and the Seattle Seahawks. When not watching sports Sally enjoyed cooking, gardening and golfing and working to keep up with her granddaughter Delaney’s active life. They had a very special bond.
She is survived by her sons Dr. Ken Lust (Traci Lust), and Bryan Lust (Tanya Petrie), and her three granddaughters, Delaney Lust, Peyton Lust and Neve Petrie. She is also survived by her brother Jim Harris (Joyce Harris), and numerous nieces.
Sally absolutely despised long-winded obituaries.
We miss you Grammy. Go Cougs, M’s & Hawks!
