Ronald “Mountain Man” Martin went to be with the “Man” upstairs on August 28, 2019.

Ron served his country in the US Navy & the US Coast Guard in his youth. Ron retired from the University of Washington after 30+ years of service. First as a janitor and then in the parking division as a parking guide.

Ron loved to fish, draw, spend time with his many friends and family, show his ‘65 Chevelle convertible and 2 classic Honda Goldwings. But his true love was figure 8 racing.

Ron started racing figure 8 with his brother Ray in 1968 at Evergreen Speedway where he was known as the “Mountain Man.” Ron’s nickname came from Ron & his family residing on top of Tiger Mountain in Issaquah, Washington for many years.

Ron is survived by his children, Rob Clark, Chelli Shedd, and Shawna Riley, his 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

We would like to invite you all to come and join us to celebrate Ron’s life on September 28, 2019 between 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Ron’s home at 1719 S. 10th Avenue, Yakima.
