Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory
2 Timothy 1:10,12 “…our Savior Jesus Christ, who broke the power of death and showed us the way of everlasting life through trusting Him… for I know the One I trust and am sure He is able to guard that which I have given Him until the day of His return…”
Death is not the end. After a 35 day struggle with paralysis and cancer, Peter walked whole and complete into his loving Savior’s arms. Meeting him in heaven were his parents, Ted and Anna Mae van Keulen and his infant son, Alex. Those awaiting this joyous reunion are his devoted wife of 17 years, Dona, his two sons, Ryan and Ian (Jamie), grandson, Oliver, his three sisters, Mary (Jim) Frazier-Larin of Yakima, Josie (Bruce) Peters of Dallas, OR, and Jean (Steve) Karich of Hillsboro, OR, and many nieces and nephews.
Peter graduated from Carroll High School in 1975 and attended Yakima Valley College. He retired from Yakima County Corrections after 30 years in 2014. For the next five years, Peter worked alongside his wife, Dona, at their flower shop, ABBee’s FLORAL & GIFTS in Selah. He relished meeting everyone and making people smile with his flower deliveries. On Sundays, his larger than life persona greeted everyone at Harvest Community Church with a huge smile and infectious laugh.
Peter’s Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Selah Civic Center (216 S. 1st St., Selah, WA 98942).
The family would like to thank Harvest Community Church for their love and support and Yakima Memorial Hospice. Please consider donating to either one of them in care of Brookside Funeral Home (PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936) who is caring for the family, or directly to Dona van Keulen to assist with medical and funeral costs.
