Michael Ray Mattox went to be with our Lord and Savior Saturday November 23, 2019 surrounded by his friends and family. His time of death was 1:43 am which is symbolic for “I LOVE YOU.” We believe that was his parting message.
Mike was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 13, 1959 to Violet and Marvin Mattox. They moved to Aurora, Colorado when he was a young boy. He attended Hinkley High School. In 1979, Mike went to Alaska to work on a fishing boat. While in Alaska he learned to locksmith at Action Locksmiths. Mike moved from Washington to Tennessee and then back to Colorado where he opened his first locksmith business in 1988. The business flourished and he eventually opened another locksmith company in Yakima, WA in 2000. Mike worked very hard to build a legacy for his family. Mike loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was an avid Denver Bronco fan. His favorite things to do were snow skiing, racing, boating, camping, fishing, riding dirtbikes and boogie boarding. Mike was an inspiration to others in teaching the locksmithing trade and life lessons.
He is survived by his brothers, a sister, children and grandchildren.
