Mary Louise Chinn Mooney peacefully passed away on September 28, 2018 at the age of 91. Mary was born in Wenatchee, WA on November 28, 1926 to Lillie Lyndes Chinn and James “Hap” A Chinn. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, father and step-mother Leola Chinn, her sister Barbara Northover and brother James “Jim” Chinn. She is survived by Ray D Mooney, her husband of 66 years, and her three sons, Rick, Terry with his wife Linda, and Dan with his wife Susan, her grandchildren, Christine, Joshua, Julie, Travis, and Heather, and her great grandchildren, Dominique, Nathaniel, Danika, Makeias, and Azelyn. Mary grew up in Toppenish, WA, and raised her family in Yakima, Seattle and Burlington, WA. She was a successful beautician that early in her career was a teacher for the Seattle Beauty College, and was developer/owner of Cherry St. Beauty Salon in Burlington at the time of her retirement. Her love of people and good conversation was the cornerstone of her career. Mary made friends with everyone she encountered. Her generous heart made it easy for her to make lasting friendships wherever she went. Later in life she became a snowbird moving between Toppenish, WA and Yuma, AZ to finally nest with her son Terry and daughter Linda.
Mary’s celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2019 in Toppenish, WA.
