Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory
Kelsey Elizabeth Lounsbury was tragically taken from family and friends in the early morning of Saturday, June 29, 2019.
Kelsey was born in Yakima, WA on October 5, 1988 to Rick and Martha (Heron) Lounsbury. She attended school in East Valley, graduating in 2007. She then moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah and train in Park City in skeleton. After a year and a half at U of U, she decided to concentrate on her studies and moved back to Washington and became a full-fledged, devoted Coug at WSU. She joined the rowing team which became her passion and her Pullman family.
Kelsey will best be remembered for her huge heart, electric personality and her obsession with everything sports related. She was always very family oriented and enjoyed every minute spent with family and friends. She and her cousins could tell stories on each other for hours and the laughter was endless.
Kelsey volunteered at the Grant County Fire District #8 in Mattawa, WA and had recently decided that it was the career she had been looking for.
She will be dearly missed by all of those she touched in life.
Kelsey is preceded in death by her Grandpa John Heron, who she worshiped, and it was mutual.
She is survived by her parents, Rick and Martha Lounsbury, Grandma Ardath Heron, grandparents, Gary and Pat Lounsbury, aunts and uncles: Beth Heron, Joy and Steve Cruse, Gary and LaVon Lounsbury, Shellie and Ken Paul, Bob and Deb Lounsbury and Scott Lounsbury; her cousins: Stephen (Abby) Cruse, Cody (Lindsey) Cruse, Brennan and Lindsy Lounsbury, Breezy and Kurt Schelhammer, Emily (Cody) Paul and Madelyn Paul and numerous other cousins, aunts, and uncles. She loved you all. Kelsey is also survived by many friends and all are so treasured, including Cassie Green, Lindsey (Woodkey) Barkley, Cassie (Hester) Marshall, Sam Mallory, Emily Crawford and Liz England-Smith.
Kelsey’s life will be celebrated on July 13, 2019 at Terrace Heights Grange (3701 W. Birchfield Rd., Yakima) at 11:00 AM with lunch following. Please come with memories and hugs to share.
