Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory
James Schoch passed away on June 8, 2019 at Cottage in the Meadow surrounded by family who dearly loved him. He was born on March 3, 1943 in Yakima, Washington to Valentine and Catherine (Sticka) Schoch. He was a brother to Joan Snyder (Damian), Marvin Schoch (Arletta), Hubert Schoch, Vickie Schmidt, Robert Schoch (Lois), Kathleen Schoch, and Michele Schoch Fourness (Walter).
Jim graduated from Marquette High School in 1960 and in 1970 married Mary Anne St. Martin, sharing 48 loving years together.
His quiet strength and inner faith were always present. Faith was his bedrock which was reflected with his dedicated ministries at St. Joseph Catholic Church. His love for the homebound was foremost. He was a humble and dedicated servant of the Lord. Jim truly lived out his faith in his love of family and others.
Jim worked as a carpenter, well digger, and truck driver with some masonry on the side, but his greatest joys were family and friends. He especially loved family gatherings, the sharing of good food, conversation and just overall being together.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne, his sisters, Joan Snyder, Vickie Schmidt, and Michele Fourness, brother, Bob Schoch and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers, Marvin Schoch and Hubert Schoch, and sister, Kathleen Schoch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church (212 N. 4th Street) at 10:00 am followed by a luncheon in the Parish Hall. A Graveside Service will be held after the luncheon at Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Memorial Hospice and Cottage in the Meadow for their loving, compassionate care. Words cannot say enough. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church and sent in care of Brookside Funeral Home (PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936) who is caring for the family.
