Gayle R. Oswalt Rescorla-Howell

Valley Hills Funeral Home

On November 3rd, 2019, after a peaceful day of church and lunch with her loving husband, Gayle Regina Oswalt Rescorla Howell went home to be with her Savior.

Gayle was born on January 31st, 1948 to Edith (Andreas) and Al Oswalt in Sunnyside, WA. She spent her younger life in the Satus area of Granger, WA. She met and married Andrew James Rescorla the summer of 1965 after a whirlwind romance. They raised four children together. At the age of 32 she went back to school and earned her GED and finished 12 years later with her Bachelors degree in Business. She also received her Dietary Manager’s degree all while holding down a 40-plus hour job and volunteering at the college to pay for her education. She simply loved to learn. Gayle and James owned two businesses together, J&G Hardware and Pioneer Kitchen. In 2017, James passed away and Gayle, in order to avoid loneliness, moved into Senior Living. There Gayle met the second love of her life, Jackie “Jack” Lee Howell. They fell for each other hard and were married November 4th 2017. Gayle and Jack said it didn’t matter how long they would be together, every day was a blessing. So one day shy of their second anniversary, Gayle went home.

Gayle is lovingly survived by her husband Jack, two daughters, Angie (Gary) Sanders of the Nile area of Chinook Pass, and Laurie (Kevin) Omta of Selah, two sons, Andrew James “Jamie” (Kristin) Rescorla Jr. of Yakima, and Josh (Lisa) Rescorla of Federal Way, seven grandchildren, Tim (Rachel) Buell, Cody (Heather) Clayton, Andy (Kolby) Clayton, Ashley Rescorla, Jacob Omta, and Ethan & Mason Rescorla, and four great-grandchildren, Harmony, Kaleb, Hunter, and one on the way.

She is preceded in death by husband James, her parents, Al and Edith Oswalt, two sisters, Debbie Stanton and Judy Nuggent, brother-in-law, Mike Nuggent, and great-grandson, Aaden James Clayton.

Mom we know you are dancing in the glow of God’s glory with all the family and friends up there. We know we will be with you someday, so this is not a goodbye but simply a see you later.
