Dorothy Nelda Kobes, 77, died on December 30, 2018. She was a resident of Blossom Place in Yakima, WA. Dottie was born in Toppenish, WA on November 16, 1941 to Garret William and Edith Kobes.

She graduated from Granger High School in 1960 and then attended Yakima Business College.

She worked for Stanislaus County Library in Modesto, CA for 41 years.

She enjoyed reading and spending time with friends and family. Dottie loved to play the piano and sing at nursing homes in Modesto, CA. She was active in the First Christian Reformed Church in Modesto for many years, singing in the choir and helping with the Calvinette Girls Club.

Dottie moved to Yakima in November 2010. She attended Faith Alive Church in Yakima for several years.

Dottie is survived by three brothers and three sisters: Katherine (Jerald) Clark of Flint, TX, Barbara (Alan) Luther of Yakima, WA, Gerald (Shaunna) Kobes of Selah, WA, Richard (Karen) Kobes of Granger, WA, Mary (John) Dekker of Rainier, WA, and David (LaDonna) Kobes of Toppenish, WA, and cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many friends in Modesto. She is preceded in death by her parents, Garret William and Edith Kobes.

The family would like to thank the staff of Blossom Place for their loving care of her these past eight years.

Funeral Services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect, Moxee, WA 98936) Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm followed by an interment at Terrace Heights Memorial Park (3001 Terrace Heights Dr., Yakima, WA 98901).
