David A. Gasseling, 68, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2019 at Toppenish Nursing and Rehab. David was born on June 24, 1950 the son of Leo and Theresa (Hornsberger) Gasseling in Yakima, Washington. He attended school in Wapato and graduated from Wapato High School in 1969. David met his future wife through mutual friends in 1970, they were married shortly after in 1973.
David was a simple man that loved to farm. He spent his quiet time on the tractor thinking. He loved to mow the lawn and during harvest season he would drive the semi-trucks hauling hop bales. He and his father loved to take care of the Clydesdale horses that they had and showing them at the Central Washington State Fair.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marleen, his daughters, Leah (Tracy Bossard) Gasseling and Erica (Alfonso Gutierrez) Gasseling. He is also survived by his brothers, Ken (Diane) Gasseling, Don (Susan) Gasseling, and Mike (Susan) Gasseling, sisters, Ann (Rick) Niesz, and Susan Gasseling, and sister in law, Arleen (Kevin) Harman, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tom Gasseling, aunt, Mary Lange, and father and mother in law, Maurice and Nellie Laurent.
