Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory
Beverly Colleen Mason Wilson went to join her Lord and Savior on April 1, 2019. Beverly was a very creative person who found her gift of painting later in life. Her family enjoys many of her works of art in their homes.
She was born in Anderson, Missouri on April 28, 1932. Her parents were Marvin Mason and Lola Shadwick Mason (Wilson), both of Missouri. At 5 years old, her parents came to Washington to find work, finally settling in Sunnyside, WA. She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1950. She was a very talented musician, playing the violin with much love and skill. She was honored with a scholarship for music. While in high school, she met Donald Dwayne Wilson. They were married in 1951. Donald and Beverly had four children, Pamela, Bradley, Deborah, and Cindy. After being discharged from the Army, Donald and Beverly went to Cheney College to receive a degree in mechanical and electrical drafting. Soon after finishing college, they moved to Southern California, where they raised their 4 children.
Beverly helped support her family as an electrical engineer, which during that time was a male-dominated field. But her true love was teaching, so she opened her own pre-school in the Santa Cruz mountains. She was much loved and respected by her students and their parents. After many years of “fighting the rat race,” Don and Bev decided to get back to nature by “homesteading” and moved to Troy, Montana in 1973. While developing their property on O’Brien Creek, Donald succumbed to cancer. Beverly was by his side through thick and thin. After adjusting to life as a widow, she eventually settled in Yakima, WA. Her mother and step-father (Lola and Roy Wilson) came to Yakima, where Beverly cared for them until their passing. Then in 2010, she moved to Great Falls, Montana with her youngest daughter where she developed her love of painting. In March of 2019, her children moved her back to Yakima, WA to spend her final days.
She is survived by her 4 children, Pamela McSharry, and spouse, Francis McSharry, of Yakima, WA who have 3 adult children; Bradley Wilson, and spouse, Sandy Wilson, of Capitola, CA, who have 2 adult children; Deborah Stone, of Coeur d’Alene, ID, who has 2 adult children; and Cindy Anderson, of Great Falls, MT, who has 2 adult children. She is preceded in death by her father, Marvin Mason, her mother, Lola Shadwick Mason Wilson, her step-father, Roy Wilson, her brother, Tom (Mason) Wilson, and her husband, of 34 years, Donald Wilson.
As Beverly’s children, we would like to thank Mom’s 6 sisters-in-law, Faye, Bev, Joann, Sherril, Ruth, and Grace, for being her sisters-in-love.
Beverly loved Jesus with all her heart and was influential in many lives as she shared that love with them. We love you, Mom and will always remember the legacy you passed to us of hard work and caring for others.
A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Brookside Funeral Home is caring for the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.brooksidefuneral.com.
