Ann Vogtlin was born on June 26, 1930, in Yakima, Washington to Hollis J. Vogtlin and Margaret (Armitage) Vogtlin. From kindergarten through twelfth grade Ann attended Yakima schools. Following graduation from Yakima High School, Ann attended and graduated from the University of Washington.
Ann returned to Yakima and landed her first job working in the savings and loan department at National Bank of Commerce on the corner of Yakima Avenue and 1st Street. After working for a few years at the bank Ann moved to Kirkland and worked at a law office for many years.
When her parents’ health began to fail, she moved back to the family home to help with their care. Ann was hired by Velikanje Moore & Shore where she worked as a probate paralegal until she retired in 1995.
Throughout her life, Ann loved spending time in the mountains especially in the area of Chinook Pass. Ann enjoyed her home, working in the yard, making amazing jams and jellies, and sharing meals and laughter with her closest friends.
At Ann’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Please make any memorials to Yakima Arboretum Foundation, Yakima Valley Museum and Historical Association, Cottage in the Meadow (c/o the Memorial Foundation), Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, Seattle, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
