A Yakima man who jumped bail and fled the state after being charged in four drive-by shootings has been captured in Lubbock, Texas, and will be extradited to Yakima, the Yakima Police Department said Friday.
Isaiah Rodriguez, 22, was held on $100,000 bail after being charged with eight counts of assault in connection with three drive-by shootings on May 12 and and fourth on May 16. He posted bail but didn't show up in court.
In a news release announcing his arrest, Yakima police said local investigators developed information placing Rodriguez in Lubbock and a U.S. Marshals Service task force made the arrest.
Police said his arrest was part of Operation Invictus, a joint law enforcement effort to reduce violent crime in Yakima.
