2:10 p.m.: Interstate 82 has been reopened for both eastbound and westbound traffic.

1:41 p.m.: Westbound Interstate 82 is expected to remain closed until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Tow trucks are working to remove vehicles involved in crashes due to icy conditions.

Removal of a semi truck and cleanup of debris have delayed the reopening, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Update, 9 a.m. Feb. 15:

Interstate 82 eastbound between Sunnyside and Zillah is now open, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The DOT said I-82 westbound between Sunnyside and Zillah remains closed. 

An accident near Outlook is hindering traffic, which is being detoured via local roads and the Yakima Valley Highway, the DOT said.

SUNNYSIDE, Wash. - Interstate 82 is closed in both directions between Wapato and Sunnyside because of icy conditions and multiple crashes, the state Department of Transportation announced.

Transportation officials estimate the interstate will be reopened around 9:30 a.m.
