Power has been restored at three Yakima School District elementary schools after short outages Friday morning.
Starting at roughly 7:30 a.m., power outages of varying lengths began at Robertson, Garfield and then Gilbert elementary schools, according to communications director Kirsten Fitterer. She said the outage was due to a Pacific Power problem and affected area neighborhoods as well.
At Gilbert, Fitterer said, the outage was brief, lasting just a few minutes. By 8:30 a.m., all power was restored at the school buildings.
“Parents were just in the process of dropping off their kids,” she said, adding that kids were not in class without power.
Fitterer said school is running on schedule without closures.
