YAKIMA, Wash. — A candlelight vigil to protest the treatment of migrants and the separation of immigrant families during U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations will take place on Friday .

The event will be from 8-9:10 p.m. in front of the Yakima County Correctional Facility at 111 N. Front St. in Yakima, according to information from organizers.

The “Lights for Liberty: A Vigil to End Human Concentration Camps” event is organized and sponsored by the South Central Federation of Democratic Women, LD 15 and LD 15 Democrats, the Yakima County Democrats, the Yakima Immigrant Response Network, the Yakima County Young Democrats and One America.

Yakima’s event is part of a national call to action on Friday to protest the inhumane conditions faced by migrants, the announcement said.
