YAKIMA, Wash. -- A national firearms expert is scheduled to speak in Yakima early next month.

Ashley Hleblinski, the Robert W. Woodruff Curator at the Cody Firearms Museum in Cody, Wyo., will speak during a 2 p.m. program on June 2 at the Yakima Valley Museum, 2105 Tieton Drive.

Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and children. The price includes admission to the museum’s latest exhibit, “Lock, Stock, and Barrel.”

Hleblinski had been scheduled to speak Nov. 4, shortly after “Lock, Stock, and Barrel” opened. The weather in Wyoming forced cancellation.

“Lock, Stock, and Barrel” highlights pieces from the museum’s extensive gun collection, many on display for the first time. The exhibit closes in late August.

Firearms comprise one of the museum’s most significant collections, which includes

rifles, pistols, artillery and ammunition dating from Colonial America, through westward expansion, to major military conflicts of the 19th and 20th centuries.
