A fire in an alley on South Third Street in Yakima spread to a nearby home Tuesday, causing an estimated $20,000 in damages before firefighters could get it knocked down, according to a news release from the Yakima Fire Department.
The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. at a home in the 400 block of South Third Street, according to the department.
Firefighters say they arrived to find the flames burning through an exterior wall and into the attic of the home.
No one was home when the fire started, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the release.
