YAKIMA, Wash. -- Popular children’s television character Daniel Tiger is coming to Yakima in August as part of Be My Neighbor Week events held by KCTS 9.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” the PBS station will be taking Daniel on the road at Be My Neighbor Day parties in Bellingham, Yakima and Seattle.
The Yakima party is set for 2 to 6 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Yakima Valley Museum, 2105 Tieton Drive. It’s free and open to the public, but guests must RSVP in advance and choose a time slot in order to attend. No walk-ins will be accepted, according to a news release.
All attendees must bring a canned good to donate to Northwest Harvest.
Be My Neighbor Day will feature crafts and activities from community partners, a meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with Daniel Tiger himself and more.
RSVPs will go live at 10 a.m. July 28. Links to the Eventbrite RSVP form will be available then on this page: https://kcts9.org/neighbor.
Daniel will also visit Bellingham on Aug. 13 for an event from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Mount Baker Theatre; and Bellevue on Aug. 18, from noon to 2 p.m. at Marketplace at Factoria.
