Grandview School District is opening its classroom doors in October to parents and community members.

The annual A Day with Our Scholars event serves as a “reverse field trip,” allowing the community to see what students are doing in the classroom, schools’ use of technology and the classroom environment, according to a news release from the district.

The district’s five schools will join the event, and participants will be able to spend upward of 45 minutes in one building — either spending the duration in one classroom or by touring the campus.

Participants also will be able to speak with administrators. Lunch and transportation will be provided to the public.

The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 16. Reserve a spot by calling the district office at 509-882-8500.
