A 38-year-old Yakima man is charged with possessing more than 5 pounds of methamphetamine with the intent to sell it.
Jose Antonio Gonzalez-Bucio was arrested June 12 during a drug sting set up by Spokane police and the Yakima police DEA Task Force. A suspect in a Spokane drug case identified Gonzalez-Bucio as a supplier who could deliver large quantities of drugs.
Officers arranged to buy drugs from Gonzalez-Bucio, and arrested him in in the WinCo Foods parking lot, according to court documents.
At his arrested, Gonzalez-Bucio had provided 2.4 kilograms — about 5.3 pounds — of a substance police said tested positive for methamphetamine, along with almost 2 ounces of suspected heroin, the documents said. Detectives estimated the methamphetamine’s street value from $16,000 and $20,000, while the heroin’s value was from $2,000-$2,400.
He is also charged with possessing heroin with the intent to deliver.
Gonzalez-Bucio was released from the Yakima County jail Friday after posting $10,000 bail.
