YAKIMA, Wash. — A Wapato man facing three counts of illegal wildlife trafficking will be arraigned Dec. 20.

Oscar Finley Jr., 40, appeared Tuesday in Yakima County Superior Court to respond to a summons.

Finley is charged with selling two elk and five deer to undercover detectives on three separate dates in November 2013.

A report filed by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife says the alleged crimes took place in Yakima County, but no further details were provided.

Finley was released on his own recognizance.

In October, Finley and another man were accused by Oregon authorities of illegally shooting a trophy-class buck mule deer in Wheeler County, Ore.

Investigators said the men shot the deer from the highway right of way while it was on private property.

They were given criminal tickets.
