SELAH, Wash. – A standoff ended Saturday when a man hiding from police in the attic of a home fell through the ceiling.

Police went to the home in the 1700 block of West Naches Avenue after receiving a domestic violence complaint about a man arguing with his girlfriend and threatening to stab people there, according to a Selah Police Department new release.

Police ordered everyone to leave the house, but the man barricaded himself in the attic.

The Yakima SWAT team was called, and the man refused several orders to leave the house, the release said.

The SWAT team entered the house after securing a warrant, and the man crashed through the ceiling.

He was treated at a local hospital and booked into the Yakima County jail, police said.

He was arrested on several warrants and suspicion of domestic violence, second-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment, harassment and violation of a protection order.
