A 22-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday morning at a party in a home in the 600 block of E. Race St. in Yakima.

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A 22-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday morning in Yakima.

Yakima police were called about 1:30 a.m. to reports of a fight at a house party in the 600 block of East Race Street, Yakima police Capt. Jay Seely said.

Someone started shooting during the fight and the 22-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, he said. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.

An autopsy is scheduled Monday morning, according to the Yakima County Coroner’s Office.

During the fight, a 28-year-old man received a gunshot wound to his pelvic area that was not considered life-threatening. A 27-year-old woman who was hit in the head with blunt force during the fight was treated at a local hospital and released, according to a police department news release.

Police are looking for a man in his 20s in connection with the incident. No suspects are in custody. Seely said police suspect the shooting was gang-related.
