YAKIMA, Wash. – Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who was found dead in a pickup near Granger on Friday.
Joe Albert Fuller, 44, of Granger was killed by a single gunshot wound to the torso, said Yakima County sheriff’s spokesman Casey Schilperoort.
Authorities believe the crime was not gang-related. They are still looking for a motive and suspect, Schilperoort said.
Court records show that Fuller had an outstanding warrant for charges of unlawful firearms possession, possessing a stolen firearm and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. He also has prior convictions on drug and firearms possession.
Deputies were called to the 1600 block of Cherry Hill Road at 6:55 a.m. for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch after gunshots were heard, according to a sheriff’s news release. Deputies found Fuller dead in the driver’s seat.
His death was the seventh homicide in Yakima County this year.
