SUNNYSIDE, Wash. – Ostrom Mushrooms has secured funding for construction of its new facility in Sunnyside.

A value-added private investment firm has agreed to finance $45 million for the new development, according to a news release from Ascendant Partners Inc., Colorado-based business and financial advising firm that worked with Ostrom to secure financing. The firm works with companies in the agribusiness, food processing and ingredients industries.

The Olympia-based commercial mushroom producer announced plans for the new facility a year ago. It purchased 43 acres at Midvalle and Duffy roads from the Port of Sunnyside last month. The new facility will have 48 grow rooms and a compost facility. The new plant is expected to generate 200 jobs for the Sunnyside area.

Ostrom officials said previously that they want to have the plant running by the spring or summer of 2019.
