• Raquel Alcala has joined Enigma Marketing of Yakima as new-business developer. She spent much of her childhood in Mexico before coming to Yakima during her sophomore year of high school, and later earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Heritage University.

• U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Sunnyside, was named Legislator of the Year by the Pacific Northwest Waterways Association at the group’s annual convention recently in Vancouver. The award cites a member of the congressional delegation who has gone above and beyond in supporting waterborne commerce, economic development and navigation infrastructure in the Northwest.
