Tyler J. Gallaway has joined Menke Jackson Beyer LLP as an associate attorney. Gallaway is a graduate of West Valley High School, Washington State University and Seattle University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2018.


Community Health of Central Washington has hired James Choe as manager of Kittitas Regional Health Services. Choe will manage CHCW’s Ellensburg medical and dental clinics. He has a Doctor of Medicine degree from Saint Matthew’s University School of Medicine (Cayman Islands) and most recently was practice manager for Visiting Physicians Association in Renton.

Erin Murphy is the new chief human resources officer at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima and a new board member for Entrust Community Services. She has a master’s degree in organization development and strategic human resources from Maryland’s Johns Hopkins University and has 18 years of human resources experience.


Julie Carpenter is the new human resources assistant at Entrust Community Services. She has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Central Washington University.


Gov. Jay Inslee has appointed John Cooper, president and CEO of Yakima Valley Tourism, to the board of directors of Washington Filmworks, an agency that promotes the state’s film industry.

Kelly Darbyson is the new convention account manager for Yakima Valley Tourism. She has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry.


Rob Blethen and Olivia Loomis of Baker Boyer Advisors have achieved national certifications. Blethen, vice president and family adviser manager, has been awarded the Certified Financial Planner designation by the CFP Board. Loomis earned the Qualified 401(k) Administrator credential from The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries.

Scott Holt was one of 800 financial advisers who attended the recent Edward Jones Financial Advisor Leaders Conference in St. Louis. The conference recognizes financial advisers who are among the leaders within Edward Jones.


Jill Graper Hernandez will be the dean of Central Washington University’s College of Arts and Humanities beginning Aug. 1. Hernandez is associate dean of University College and a professor of philosophy at University of Texas at San Antonio.


Dave Brown, water-irrigation manager for the city of Yakima, recently received the state Department of Health Commitment to Excellence Award. The 35-year city employee has honored for, among other things, his efforts to repair two failing water systems and provide reliable water sources to affected residents.
