Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences has hired Dr. Heather Fritz as founding director of its developing School of Occupational Therapy. She received her master of science in occupational therapy from Winston Salem State University and her doctorate in occupational science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Wayne State University Institute of Gerontology. Her current clinical interest is in community-based preventive occupational therapy for older adults. She is a certified health coach and especially interested in growing occupational therapy’s role in the primary care setting.

Mary Elsethagen has joined Comprehensive Healthcare as the new vice president of inpatient and residential services. Coming from Greater Oregon Behavioral Health based in The Dalles, Ore., she has extensive behavioral health experience ranging from clinical roles in mental health and substance use disorder treatment, to overseeing departments in management and director roles.

Funeral services

Mahala Mohler has joined Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory and Shaw & Sons Funeral Home as an office assistant. She is the third generation of her family to be a part of the funeral service profession in Yakima and Kittitas counties.
