Angela Von Essen, assistant superintendent for finance and operations at the West Valley School District in Yakima, has earned the Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations certification, according to the Association of School Business Officials International.
School business professionals who earn the SFO certification have proven they have the required knowledge, expertise and fiscal credibility to lead their school district and effectively manage the district’s finances.
Central Washington Family Medicine has added Dr. Courtney Shockley as a new pediatrician. The clinic is at 1806 W. Lincoln Ave.
Shockley received her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, and bachelor of science degree in biology from University of Colorado at Denver. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.
Shockley is an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima. She previously worked as a pediatrician at Yakima Valley Farm Worker’s Clinic in Wapato.
U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Wash., will serve as the new co-chair for the Congressional Wine Caucus with Rep. Mike Thompson, D-Calif. As grape growers, the two will lead the bicameral and bipartisan organization for the 116th Congress.
