Although death is an important subject, most people don’t relish talking about it, so local Catholic organizations want to help.
The Central Washington Catholic Foundation and Catholic Charities and parishes are offering a free seminar on end-of-life planning on Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, 212 N. Fourth St. The event runs from 1-4 p.m. and will cover how to communicate final wishes, how to make decisions now that can ease pain for family members while ensuring choices are honored, loved ones protected and faith options noted.
The seminar will include presentations from a funeral director, priest, estate planning attorney, estate planning accountant, investment planner and emergency services representative. Speakers include the Rev. Brooks Beaulaurier, pastor; Beau Ruff, attorney; Terry Sliger, investments, and Kathleen Wilmes, executive director, Central Washington Catholic Foundation.
